Port Aventura, one of the most exciting theme parks in the world. Located just outside the city of Salou in Spain, this fantastic theme park is packed full of thrilling rides. This article takes a look at just a few of the best rides in the park, to give you an idea of what you can expect.
Top of the list, top for the fear factor anyway, is the mighty Hurakan Condor. This ride falls into the 'extreme drop' category rising well over 100m above the rest of the park, it's one of the biggest rides on the site and can be seen when you fly into Reus airport. If the long drop wasn't scary enough there's also a twist with the ride. The twist is depending on where you enter the ride will decide whether you're, sitting in fixed seats, sitting in tilted seats or if you're really unlucky - standing. It's defiantly not a ride for the feint of heart!

Moving on too the most impressive looking ride in Port Aventura, the spectacular Dragon Khan. This beautiful roller coaster was designed by John Wardly and really brings a Chinese vibe to the park. The rollercoaster was also the first in the world to feature 8 loops, meaning that after the initial 148ft lift you got 1.75 minutes of pure exhilaration. Because of its popularity though it's a ride you either want to get on just after the park opens or later in the day just before close, when the queues will be shorter.
If you're after something a little more modern then you should check out the brilliant Furius Baco. It's the newest and fastest addition to the Port Aventura Park, accelerating you off at a speedy 83.9 mph in 3.5 seconds. The rides atmosphere is fantastic and the anticipation as you're standing in the queue is palatable. Once the launched from the station you'll be spun through a series of twists and turns at break neck speed with more than enough surprises to keep your heart beating fast until you pull back into the station.
Finally we have something a little more traditional with the brilliant Stampida, a classic wooden roller coaster. The twist on this ride is the fact you'll be racing alongside another train round the track and back to the start.
