Easy Brownie Recipes - 3 Most Wanted Cookies Of All Times

Here are 3 of my favorite brownie recipes:

>> Brownie Oatmeal Cookies

3 Sander

2/3 cup whole wheat flour

1/3 cup sugar

1 cup quick cooking rolled oats

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt, (optional)

1 each powdered egg substitute, (11/2 tsp. mixed with 3 tbs water)

1/3 cup corn syrup, ,light or dark (or substitute honey)

1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix egg replacer, vanilla and syrup. In separate bowl, mix dry ingredients, make a well, add liquid and stir till moistened. On a spritzed baking sheet, form approx. 2 dozen cookies. Bake at 350F for about 10 minutes Cool on sheet/wire rack for 5/5 minutes. Serves 24.

>> Brownie Fruit Pizza

1/2 cup reduced fat tablespread (1 stick) -- softened

1-3/4 cups sugar -- divided

4 eggs -- divided

2 teaspoons vanilla -- divided

1 cup flour

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 package Philadelphia Fat Free Cream Cheese -- softened (8 oz)

2 cups fresh fruit, assorted -- cut-up

Mix tablespread and 1 1/2 cups of the sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add 3 of the eggs and 1 tsp. of the vanilla, mixing until blended. Stir in flour and cocoa. Spray 12-inch round pizza pan with nonstick cooking spray. Spread brownie batter in pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Beat cream cheese with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Adding remaining 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg and 1 tsp. vanilla, mixing until blended. Spread over brownie. Bake 15 minutes. Cool. Refrigerate. Top with fruit.

Serves 12.

>> Chocolate Ming Brownies

1 cup Flour

1/2 cup Butter or margarine; soften

1/2 tsp Salt

4 Eggs

1 tsp Vanilla extract

16 oz Can chocolate-flavored syrup

1 cup Sugar

Filling:

2 cup Confectioners' sugar

1/2 cup Butter or margarine; soften

1 tbsp Water

1/2 tsp Mint extract

3 dr Green food coloring

Toppping:

10 oz Mint chocolate chipes

9 tbsp Butter or margarine

Combine the first seven ingredients in a large mixing bowl; beat at medium speed for 3 minutes. Pour batter into a greased 13-inch x 9-inch x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (top of brownies will appear wet). Cool completely.

Combine filling ingredients in a medium mixing bowl; beat until creamy. Spread over cooled brownies. Refrigerate until set. For topping, melt chocolate chips and butter over low heat in a small saucepan. Let cool for 30 minutes or until lukewarm, stirring occasionally. Spread over filling. Chill before cutting. Store in the refrigerator.

Yields 60.

Woodworking takes more time than you think. You have to cautiously choose the right wood for your project, calculate carefully and cut edges with the finest blades. A drum sander helps smoothen out rough edges.

There are many different types of drum sanders. It can be just a sandpaper cloaked around a speck of wood, to one big powerful fed machines. Although not all of these are within the allocated budget, many of these types can be very domineering.

With a wide selection of drum sanders, choose one with just the right power for your project.

The Ace Drum Sander Kit is cheap at $3.99 to .49. it can fit any type of drill. It has a ½ inch arbor, fit for contour sanding and shaping. Abrasive is aluminum oxide. The kit includes 1 medium sleeve and an expanding drum.

The Mid-Range Jet 16-32 Plus Drum Sander has an "adjustable" downward pressure. Drum speed is 1,725 rpm (5 inches x 16 inches drum). Motor power is 110 VAC, 1 up to ½ HP, 20A, TEFC 1PH. Maximum width is 32 inches (two passes), maximum thickness 3 inches, maximum length 2 to ¼ inch, and maximum thickness 1/32 inch. The device has a steel stand and storage shelf, with 80 grit type of abrasive strip, and 100 grit type of abrasive belt. Weight is from 145 up to 165 pounds

Types of Drum Sanders:

There many types of drum sanders in the market today which comes in various styles and a sizes. Some are connected to electric motors, others to drills. There are also unsteady models used on a board or hand held.

Some of the designs are somewhat cylindrical and can be anchored onto an electric motor shaft. Others can be casted in a drill. There are also the portable ones, the type that is very appropriate for sinks and counter tops.

Top spindle sanders are a little costly, used for sanding asymmetrical shaped units. However, these powerful tools can sand a section of about 16", which is far-reaching a migratory or a 32" wide area in two passes.

When using these drum sanders make sure that you have a protective gear. Wear protective glasses or a face mask to avoid the dust residues from entering your eyes. Dusts can also enter your lungs.

Be cautious. Make sure the switch is turned off before plugging the device. Change the sanding belts and disks while the devide is turned off. Empty the dust bag after every use.

Inspect the sand belts or disks before the start of every job. Replace worn out or clashed parts before they damage the tool.

Adjusting the sand belt tension regularly keeps the belt running in good condition, and at the same pace as the pulley drum. It will keep your tool in tiptop condition for a longer period of time.

Be careful with your hands during operation of the drum sander. Keep one hand in the trigger switch, the other in the front anterior knob.

Keep the cords free from the sanding area while in use.

Sanding Hardwood Floors - Not As Difficult As it Seems

Whenever you are renovating a house or investment property, it's not uncommon to rip up carpets to replace them and decide to refinish hardwood floors that you discovered underneath instead. After all, refinishing hardwood floors is a great way to add value and beauty to a house in a way that carpet just cannot provide.

Once the floor is clean and prepped it will be time to start sanding hardwood floors and get all of the old finishes off. If you have a lot of free time, and a whole lot of ambition, you can sand hardwood floors by hand. However, this will be very laborious and time consuming, so it's not often done.

What most people do is to visit a tool rental shop or a hardware store and rent a sander. There are two types that are used in sanding hardwood floors, known as the disk sander and the drum sander. While some people prefer the speed and ease-of-use of a disc sander, it can often leave circular marks behind if it isn't used properly.

Therefore, most people will elect to use a drum sander, which goes back and forth with the grain of the wood, making sanding much more uniform and leaving less room for errors.

In the process of sanding hardwood floors, there will be certain areas that you will need to sand using a power sander or a sanding block by hand. These include areas like the edges of the floor, around the vents and any other areas that the sander cannot reach.

Generally, this will not take a lot of work because the sander should do most of everything for you. However, you should add extra time that factors in any hand sanding that you will have to do.

Sanding hardwood floors can generally be gone in about 2 to 3 passes. Of course if you have an older floor with a lot of built-up finishes, stains, or paint, you may need to make more than that to smooth it out completely. It all depends on your floor, but you should always sand slowly so that you don't sand too much because once the layers are gone, you can't put them back.

If you're not sure that sanding hardwood floors is in your skill set and you don't want to risk messing it up, you can find many professional services that will stand in refinish her floors for you. It's up to you, so do whatever works best for your situation.
